Where is it?

The River Nile is situated in Africa, it runs through 10 African countries, including Burundi, Tanzania, Rwanda, The Democratic Republica of the Congo, Kenya, Uganda, Sudan, Ethiopia, and South Sudan.

Where's the source?

People have said that the source of the Nile is in Egypt, however this is incorrect. The source of the Nile is in Ethiopia. The source is 8000+ feet above sea level.

Papyrus is a very important plant, it grows all the way along the Nile! Ethiopia was the first ever major Christian country in the world! The grand renaissance dam is causing controversy between Ethiopia and Egypt because this dam could cut off water! Sudan uses 8 million gallons of Nile water a day to make a ‘green desert’ also known as ‘the oasis’. Pilgrims have traveled to a part of the Nile in Ethiopia, this is known as Sacred lands, they also say the water of the Nile is Holy water.

The Nile has been an important source of life for people throughout history. Around 5,000 years ago, the Ancient Egyptians relied on the Nile for fresh water, food and transportation. It also provided them with fertile land to farm on.
